Prairie Village Cemetery
A grave site of 12 lots is located in the shadow of the Junius Church on Prairie Village grounds two miles west of Madison.
Maurice Gilbert Steadman is buried in one of the graves. He was born in 1911 in Jaynesville, Wis. and died April 6, 1982. Mr. Steadman was a tried-and-true prairie dweller and worked on ranches in South Dakota and Nebraska. Moving to Madison in 1974 he was a well-known figure at Prairie Village where he operated steam engines. He had a large collection of trains and engines which are on display at Prairie Village.
